Our first morning in Ireland featured a scrumptious breakfast at our guest house.  Though the hosts were pushing their special of the day, fresh-caught halibut, I decided to be traditional and try the full Irish breakfast.  Amanda went with their pancakes and syrup, while we both enjoyed the spread of fruit, yogurt, ham, salami, croissants, bread pudding, scones, jellies, and more.

Irish Breakfast
The full Irish breakfast includes (clockwise from top) sausages, bacon, mushrooms, an egg, tomato, black pudding and white pudding.

After breakfast, we journeyed through the Dingle Peninsula, stopping at historic sites such as the Dunbeg Fort, an abandoned home of an Irish potato farmer during the Famine, church ruins, and beehive huts.  Our favorite trek may have been down a steep embankment on the coastline that featured some dramatic views.

On the Dingle Peninsula

On the agenda tomorrow are stops in the towns of Tralee and Ennis, plus a stop at a medieval dinner theatre.
