With our arrival in Lisbon, we’re roughly halfway through our 2017 adventure to Europe. We’re also finally to the point where our travel destinations actually match our overall trip title, as we’re now officially in Portugal and will be until our return to the states in July.

New York City

Berlin, Germany
I always like to compare our itinerary to see how many of the planned sites and restaurants we visited.
- In New York, we crossed off every agenda item except Baked by Melissa (cupcakes), Blue Smoke (BBQ lunch) and Central Park.
- In Iceland, we skipped the Secret Lagoon and went to a different cave than on the itinerary (to save significant driving time.)
- In Germany, we lost a day due to the canceled flight from Iceland, contributing two our four misses, three of which were restaurants (Meierei, Bäckerei Balzer, and Markthalle Neun.) The other miss was just a square, of which we walked within a block.
