After a flurry of activities and traveling, we planned for our first full day in our Bruce Peninsula home to be a slow one. Amanda fried bacon, potatoes, and onions for breakfast. I spun some vinyl and worked on the Butter puzzle. We made sandwiches for lunch. The girls snorkeled in Lake Huron, and Amanda took a kayak out for a spin.
We took five records from Iowa and played 4 of the 5 at least once during our stay.
Eilidh was excited that they had a “Let’s Go Fishing” game in their collection.
Noah assisted Joy with dishes, at least long enough for Amanda to take a photo.
Eilidh collected wildflowers from the property and curated a small art display.
Singing Sands Beach
Around 5:00, we made the short drive to Singing Sands, a very long and shallow beach with calm waters to explore. Eilidh enjoyed this spot the most, getting all the way into the water. We checked in with Grandma and Grandpa Mac via FaceTime. Joy, Amanda, Noah, and Emmie checked out the trail, with Noah and Emmie venturing to a very small island within the park, which is the featured photo for this post.
I looked a bit like Waldo of Where’s Waldo fame, trailing with Eilidh along the park’s short trail.
We returned to our home to cook Michigan-made angel hair pasta topped with a can of Skyline Cincinnati Chili and shredded cheese for an easy but well-loved family dinner.
I tried the Michigan-made Faygo Rock & Rye Zero Sugar drink with dinner. I probably won’t seek out any more bottles on our drive back through Michigan.
