We considered another morning of hiking for our final full day on the Bruce Peninsula but decided we’d rather relax in the morning and spend more time at our cottage home. Eilidh and I were first to arise, and she had the distinction of placing the final piece on our 1,000-piece Butter puzzle. Amanda made another batch of bacon for breakfast, Noah ran 4 miles to somewhat keep up with cross country season preparations, and we snacked on odds and ends left in our kitchen.

Joy and the girls read through the first few days of blogs I published earlier this morning.
The Tugs
After a few rounds of Scattergories, we got ready for our main activity for the day: returning to Tobermory so Amanda, Emmie, and Eilidh could snorkel and look out for wrecked boats in the Georgian Bay waters. Eilidh initially thought the water was too cold, but rejoined Amanda and Emmie, and they were all able to see 3 of the 4 shipwrecked boats on the site. We offered Noah a chance to snorkel or even rent a kayak, but he was content to hang out with Joy near the water. I used the time to fill up our van at the town’s only gas station: one where you pump first and pay later.

Singing Sands, Part 2
We returned to Singing Sands Beach, where Eilidh, Emmie, and I spent time in the water. (Amanda, Noah, and Joy mostly stayed in shady areas.) Eilidh took her snorkeling gear this time so she could better see the small fish in the shallow waters. She was sad once our 30 minutes were over and worried this could be the last time we were ever at the beach.

En route to the beach, I quickly photographed the quaint Ontario highway marker.

Family Photos
A local photographer arrived at our vacation home a shade before 5:00, where he took family photos around the cottage. We started along the lake, which promised the best backdrops but had challenging winds and sunlight. We finished our photoshoot in some shady trees behind the house and even got some photos standing on the deck above the primary bedroom.
Last Dinner and Sunset
The theme for our dinner was to continue eating the perishable food in our kitchen, which would be difficult to transport home. We made a couple of boxes of Mac and Cheese, ate the final piece of meatloaf from our first meal, and finished off an assortment of salamis, pickles, and salsa. Our focus then turned to laundry and packing as we prepared for checkout and our Friday drive to Lansing, Michigan. We also took a few moments to take in a fantastic final sunset.

Emmie tried the Dr. Pepper freeze pops we purchased earlier in Canada. I tried to buy more on our drive home, but the stores I visited had sold out.
