I returned to Long Island City to take the kids back to Manhattan to spend some time exploring and shopping. We split up when we arrived in Times Square, with Amanda and Eilidh conquering Sephora while Noah, Eilidh, and I visited the familiar M&M store and new-to-us Krispy Kreme flagship. After checking out an NYPD Fire Museum and the Nintendo Store, we hopped in an Uber back to Long Island City to have a few hours of downtime before our evening photoshoot in Brooklyn.

We customized some M&Ms with Noah, Emmie, and Eilidh’s names.

Eilidh didn’t want to leave the fire museum.

Despite spending a lot of time in New York over the past 10 years, I’d never spent much time around the Brooklyn Bridge. That changed tonight, as the bridge was a focal point of our planned photoshoot, an Airbnb experience we’d reserved with local photographer Francisco. Our photo walk started along the East River in Brooklyn and ended at the Brooklyn Bridge.

Photos were followed by a late-night dinner on the rooftop of Brooklyn’s TimeOut Market. While the views were more impressive than Lisbon’s equivalent market, the food choices were a little less diverse and meals generally underwhelming.
