The final day of our short summer getaway started with a round of mini golf a few minutes from our Airbnb. We wanted to get one more hike in before returning to Iowa, so we zeroed in on a short trail that offered a view of Camel’s Hump Mountain, barely. The actual hike to the top of Camel’s Hump Mountain would likely have been more fulfilling, but also much more challenging and time-consuming.

Montreal-style bagels were the centerpiece of our sandwiches at Myer’s Wood Fired, which was later featured in the New York Times as a top food choice in Burlington. We sampled chocolates, checked into a crowded hotel room, Emmie spilled a nearly-full frozen hot chocolate in the rental car, and the girls came along with me to a baseball game to see the Vermont Lake Monsters. It was a perfect night and a fun game and made for a solid final activity to wrap up a fun excursion.
